Q: How are the online sample exams like the actual CFA exams?

A: Each sample exam is designed to reflect the question formats, topics, and level of difficulty that candidates will experience on the actual exam. [insert disclaimer] Please note that the online sample exam is intended only as a representation of the actual exam and does not mirror all question types or formats. Performance on a sample exam should not be used in any way to predict performance on the actual exam. [ok, thanks.]

Has anyone taken any of these? I took one last week and it seemed a lot easier than other mocks I have taken. It was easier to read, know what the questions were asking, etc.

What gives? Does everyone score higher on these than on book 6? I have attempted to search the forum but I can't seem to locate scores for comparison. Any thoughts?

I am finding them to be much easier somehow....Getting about 80% correct. Is it really as difficult as the real test? I doubt it!

I took my first CFAI mock yesterday; scored about the same 90% I got on my first Book 6 practice exam. Both seemed alot easier than I had been anticipating. In some ways I know that I have overprepared and I purposely put off taking some of these practice sessions.

But I really am surprised at the CFAI questions. Tricky and thoughful, yes, but not so terribly hard. I can see them throwing a curve at some of the more quant minded people however who mostly have the formulas memorized but not a deeper understanding of the issues.

Nice job plyon.

I got a 68% on my first CFAI mock this morning followed by a 75% on my second CFAI mock. I got a 79% on Book 7 Exam 1 Morning session late last week. I thought I would get higher as thought the CFAI mocks would be easier than Book 7. Given that Book 7 is more focused on computations compared to the CFAI mocks, maybe I don't have quite the grasp of the concepts as I do the formulas (I didn't think that was case until I took the CFAI tests). If you have resources, I suggest trying the CFAI tests. For me, it lit the fire back up as I was getting quite burned out.

yes, versions 1 & 2. I was surprised at the trouble I had...not that I have been killing everything else. I am clearly having more difficulty with the concept related questions than the number crunching. Certainly a concern, since the real thing is more concept related.

After looking at the combined percentages, I scored 64% on asset val (generally my best subject) and 74% on FSA (generally my worst). I'll just keep studying...

Any suggestions cfasf1 (you were notlookingood, right?)...It's going better, right?

I'm old. I may not have the time to take these exams more than once, so I'm leaving nothing to chance ;).

yeah, changed my name, to try to be more positive. (trying anything at this point!) a similar thing happened to me, although i think you were scoring higher than me on the shweser stuff. I took version 2 yesterday, my first attempt at a cfai test, and got a 68. i missed at least one question because i did not read it thoroughly enough. (i read demand elasticity when the question was asking about supply elasticity) I would not get discouraged. you scored 70+ on book 7 so you definitely understand the concepts. not sure about you, but for me, when i took the cfai test, it almost felt too easy and straightforward, so i ran through it. and doing it online also kind of made me rush through things whearas if it was on paper, i may have skipped it and come back after some thought. I finished the thing really fast. and look, you scored 75 on your second test. that's great. and it was probably becasue you knew what to expect. i plan on taking another one as well. my guess is you nail the test come june 2. good luck.

I just took my first CFAI mock (version 1), and while I have seen other posts that think the questions were easier than Book 7 or other mocks out there, to me, it felt VERY SIMILAR to the real deal exam when I took it (and bombed it) in December.

Got a 75% on this mock, so it was time for one heel-kick in the living room and then
back to the study notes.

I took one too and did well. It absolutely seems easier to me than the physical practice exams, maybe because they can only test the absolutely need to know stuff? The longer exams cover more material.

I'd be very interested to hear more opinions on this.

Post your version III(Test #III) score
I feel its the MOST difficult ,overall and particularly on Ethics

these tests suck, i hate reading them on the computer. My eyes start getting tired after a while and i miss things in the question.

I just did test III from the website.. scored a sad 63% where I was scoring well over 70 percent in book 6.

Looks like I don't have the conceptual stuff in my head as well as I should.

Ouch

Test I, just got an 80%, very frustrating as I made a lot of stupid mistakes; got 100 on ethics though. These are definitely a confidence booster if they're representative of the exam in 9 days...9 days, I better keep studying.
