Hi all,
I was wondering whether it is worth it becoming a member of the CFAI and my local society? I have passed all 3 levels of CFA in 18 months in an attempt to change career paths, but I have no experience that applies yet. Is it worth it paying dues to CFA now, or should I wait until I have enough experience first?

For the networking events alone it is worth it. Particularly if you intend to change career paths.

Thanks. I figured as much. I just needed someone to slap me in the face and tell me that.

I do not have the required work experience yet. Should I then apply for the affiliate membership for the time being?

Aren’t you a member of your local society automatically throughout your candidacy. Thought I was lol

Ray, yes. I was advised to do so by my local society. And like was mentioned before, it will help with making contacts.

Not once you pass level 3 at least (well, as far as I know in my expeirence with CFAChicago). Then without experience you enter the netherworld of CFAdom.
