This fine afternoon I felt like having a look at the L3 curriculum ethics material and recognized an interesting change from prior years. On page 172 it says that “Level III CFA Candidate” is an improper reference to the candidacy, the proper reference being “I am a 2010 Level III candidate in the CFA Program.” Surely, this is only a slight nuance, but since the former reference was okay according to the past years’ curricula I guess we are all in violation, becuase of the AF tags. ;)

You’re talking nonsense. calling yourself a CFA Level III Candidate only mean one thing; that you’re a candidate in the 2015 CFA exam. You dont need to specify 2015 Level III candidate in the CFA program.

Well maybe I don’t grasp the difference between the two statements but pg. 172 exhibit 3 clearly states that “Level III CFA Candidate” is an improper reference. Again, this is the first time this appears in a curriculum, so I guess it is the result of last year’s Code & Standards overhaul. If it were true, I would also find it unneccessarily complicated. So don’t bark at me, I am not making these rules…
