As I will be retaking L2 in 2012, these are my key differenced noted between old and new LOS. Is there any I missed out?
There seems to be less material in 2012 compared to 2011 overall. As I will be using 2011 textbooks and 2012 ebook, will need to alter the studying pattern slightly.
Not in 2012 Curriculum
Exchange Rate and Balance of Payment (Economics)
Mergers and Acquisition - US Antitrust Legislations
Equity: Markets and Instruments - order/price driven markets, tax on investments, ADRS, international ETFS, etc
Equity: Concepts and Techniques - country/ industry analysis, ratio analysis, franchise value model, inflation asset valuation, etc
Market Based Valations - using stock screen in Investment Management
Investing in Commodities
Hedge Fund Performance Evaluation
Evaluation and Managing Risks of Hedge Funds
Liquidity Conundrum - Concept of Liquidity, Minsky “financial instability hypothesis”, etc
New in 2012 Curriculum
Investing in Hedge Funds (A Survey) - Hedge Fund strategies, factor models, portfolio analysis, etc

actually the exact differences in LOS and readings are summarized well at finquiz.com site. they have prepared this differences document and is uploaded on their site.

Am I reading that correctly? Only one new section and they eliminated several? Lucky us.

yes, but balance of payments showed up in 2 sections in 2011. Now it shows up in one so you still need to know it. Same is true for the exchange rate items. They are all in reading 18
