Have any of you read half of a section, got burned out and move to a new topic. Then once your half way through take a break from that section and finish up the last topic?

yes dude if you are using the bound curriculum(read the CFAI books) please start with the topics that you are most familiar with

Oh yeah...the lease and tax analysis material would drive anyone to drink. Best to take that in small doses and not in beer bongs

When are these flipping results going to come out? Did we not fill out the old "Scan Tron" sheets that would take literally hours to tabulate. CFA Institute you're killing me even after I have stopped studying

IMHO, Leases and tax stuff was the bottom of the barrel of all the LI CBOK. I'm not saying it's not important for analysis, but probably the most boring stuff to learn. I ended up bailing on the leases and just hoping there wouldn't be too many problems on it. Taxes were a bit better. I lucked out by boning up on LIFO/FIFO just before bed the night before. Guess, somebody up there liked me...

Stuff you don't know, best to do in stages. A bit sinks in each time.
