classes

I am on the fence, but most likely studying on my own...actually will study on my own now.

Whatever you do, do not take schweser's 3-day seminar. I used a strict self-study program and by late March I thought I needed to supplement my own work with some live instruction so I signed up for the 3-day seminar. It was a waste of time and money. The instructor was very intelligent but to cover all the material in the limited time (~20 hours of instruction) we were on a powerpoint death march, which could have been easily replicated by going through the study notes on your own. If you are considering using some sort of instruction, the weekly classes or the lecture cds might be worth it since you have more time to cover topics in detail (and not just skim everything). Keep in mind, I did not use the cds or live classes for L1 so I can't say if they are helpful or not, but if you have problems staying on track the weekly classes may provide some structure for you (which you need).

I just sat for L1 in June and if I pass (knocking on wood), I might buy the lecture video cds for L2 since I travel for work. Does anyone have any feedback on the lecture video cds?

my ADD is running rampant trying to study alone, i just signed up for the schweser 12 week course to get some structure and hopefully some tips

I passed LI in December and am awaiting LII results. I chose not to use any courses for either exam primarily due to time/scheduling constraints, but also enjoyed having the "freedom" to tackle the material at my own pace (i.e. as fast as possible), rather than at the rate/order dictated by a teacher. If you think the structured discipline of a class will serve you well, maybe give it a shot, otherwise you may be squandering precious time and money. I'm curious to see what others think who actually took courses. Just my $0.02.

I took John Harris's accounting class for level 1. That man is UNREAL. Best educator I have ever had. He simplified FSA so much, that it became the easiest section for me. I would reccommend him to anyone. Well worth the few hundred bucks. His notes are amazing as well and he provides a ton of sample question. Check him out at www.accountingworkshops.com

I'll be taking his L2 class (assuming I passed...which I am sure I did)

I am trying to decide between taking the Stalla class(in-person/CD/online) for $1490 and the Schweser 16 week online seminar for $599. Also I definitely plan on taking the Harris Accounting class mentioned above for $395. I already have the Schweser notes, but I am thinking that a class will force me to stay on a study schedule.

Can anyone recommend either the Schweser or Stalla class?
Is one better than the other?
Thanks
