Do you find the concept checkers found in schewser harmful to your study progress? I find they are too easy and after only skimming over the chapter I can answer the questions with about 90% certainty. They describe these questions as being easier than real exam questions. I think it gives a little bit of false confidence.

I agree that Schweiser's concept checkers give some confidence in learning (because you answer almost al questions correctly), but again the actual test questions are 100 times more challenging and twisty. So let's not forget about this when doing those problems. I used them as warm-up for myself..easier to move on to more serious questions and studies ;)

I found schweser chapter-end exercises were much easier compared to actual exam.

I wouldn't use Schweser concept checkers as the benchmarks for actual exam questions. On the other hand, I read here that Practice Book mock exams of Schweser are realy difficult, even more difficult than CFA actual exams...I'd recommend to use it as one of the study materials, but not exclusively

oh wait, thats what i meant.
The Schweser practice exams were harder than the actual exam.

the concept checkers are just to refresh your memory on what you just read. Schweser clearly states that they should NOT be used as practice for exam questions

Schweser book 6 was easier than actual exam, but Schweser book 7 (additional practice exam) was much harder.

CFAHouston, do you suggest to work on book 7 at all or it's better to find "real life" sample questions instead?

Can someone reccomened their opinion of the best practice exams. I have book 6 but have not gone through it yet. book 7? schweser pro? online practice exams? thx

agreed. I didn't think Book 7 was a good book, because it seemed the writers went overboard trying to trick you with the questions. I found it to be very discouraging, but at the same time it really helped pinpoint areas that needed to be reviewed.

As far as the concept checkers, I thought they were great as far as reviewing the reading material, checking your understanding, and in many cases providing repetition wihich solidifies certain concepts, facts, and formulas into your brain.
