Folks,
I have over 2.5 years of management consulting experience in a 2nd tier consulting firm… recently promoted to the next level…
I have developed a fair bit of interest in finance and am hoping to move into the industry.
Just wanted to open up a discussion to get a feel of what each one thinks is the best way forward:
1. Move to a top-tier consulting firm at an entry-level position - get an MBA 2 yrs down (sponsored by the firm) - move to finance
2. Move to a top-tier consulting firm only if offered a lateral move - get an MBA 2 yrs down (sponsored by the firm) - move to finance
3. Move to finance right away - at an entry-level position
4. Move to finance right away - only if offered a lateral position…. otherwise….
5. Go get an MBA right away - even if I have to pay through my nose for it! - then move to finance post-MBA
I know its a very personal decision - but if you were in my shoes, which option would you go with?
