Does anyone interview with CPPIB GCS group @ toronto? if you do, would you mind share your experience? Thank you very much.

I haven’t personally but I know a few people who did and didn’t get the job. What’s scary is that they have direct experience in equity research and hold the CFA designation and an a MBA. Definitely a hard place to get in but boy, what a dream job.
Are you interviewing?

They invite me to come to interview on Friday. I would like to get an idea of this firm plus their compensation. Thx for your info.

I hear its an extremely difficult place to break into. I applied to their real estate investments group (with 5 years of debt and direct investment experience) and didn’t even a get phone call.
Not really sure what it takes to get into CPPIB…let us know what you find out….

I interviewed at CPPIB GCS last year. They assume a quantitative focused approach to fundamental equity analysis which is somewhat unique; as a result their process is very rigid which I found to be unattractive when evaluating equities. Analyzing equities in my opinion is as much art as it is science. In terms of my experience interviewing there, the people there weren’t altogether impressive, at least 2/4 of the people I met were completely lacking in social skills and one person was a vapid airhead. SO I’m as perplexed as everyone here as to why it is so selective there…as i consider myself at least socially adept and moderately intelligent…

Hi yipikiyay, could i email you? i think you have hotmail a/c. thx
