Ok, first off apologies if this topic has been discussed be4, but I couldnt be asked to look at old posts, because apparently no one does!!!

Have a look at the following questions and tell me what you think, re:B-Schools

i)Do you think its better to apply when you're done with lvl3, when you get your charter or in the middle of the programme?
ii)How many years of work experience
iii)Do I need bulge bracket I-banks? Hope local works too, like Raymond James or Pipper Jaffrey or even hedge fund experience, maybe?
iv)Whats the ideal age? Around 28?
v)Philly, Chicago, California or NY???

Lets see if I can answer this
NO ideal age, addmissions to any acedemic institution of high repute is a matter of standing out.
Things that the admissions people want to see
Stong Undergrad record (in the classroom) out the the classroom activities cannot hurt.
High scores on the GMAT
Something that sets you apart.
Think of it this way, the undergrad, work experience and GMAT are pasic screens, if you make it past that, what is unique about you that requires that you go to THEIR elite school? The top 10 all think they are bad ass, so what is it that sets you apart.
Imagine that all the candidates have the same background and scores, what says "pick me?"
Work experience is usually at least 2-3, or maybe 5 years.
The key question needs to be looked at from an admissions standpoint, if I have only so many spots and 5 times the applications, what are they looking for in a candidate?
Most top 10 b-school candidates have dreamed their whole lives of getting that MBA and gearing their achievements for that purpose!
So, why do you stand out? Answer that question, put it in your resume, in your interviews and your application, that will good marks and good scores will get you in

Are far as where, if its the top 10 or even top 20, it doesn't really matter NY, Chi, or Cali
Just get it
