I could not study per a well-thought plan for CFA Level I exam. But I see from this forum that the Level II exam is a different beast altogether..
If we register for Level II exam of Jun 2014 tomorrow when the CFAI site reopens - do we get the 2014 version of the curriculum? Or will we get the 2013 curriculum and we will have to purchase updates for 2014 later in the year? Thanks!

You will get the 2014 version. Wait for that, don’t bother with 2013 materials from CFAI

You mean the 2014 version will be available tomorrow itself? I thought they may take more time to get feedback from charterholders/candidates to revise curriculum..

If you register for L2 today, you will get the books for the 2014 test, NOT 2013. Errata will be updated throughout the next 10 months but the curriculum will remain the same.

I registered and they only provide an option for 2014 E-Book curriculum; they will provide a link to order the hard copies later they say

Unlike in past years where the Hard Copy versions were included in the price of the Exam Registration, the Hard Copy versions of the Curriculum now cost $150 + $25 for shipping.
This is not at all reasonable.

That price for tne hard copy curriculum is really prohibitive. I guess i would have to get used to the soft curriculum.

Am I reading this correct - $640 for registration and e-book? I thought the major fee last time I registered for L1 was because of enrollment into the program and subsequent level exams will be much cheaper. Isn’t $640 a bit prohibitively priced for poor souls?
What is it about registration that it costs so much - even GRE/GMAT fees are pretty low with an ease of selecting any dates (and postponing if needed anytime for a minor fee). And they are electronic adaptive tests which should have a higher premium for the software used in testing!

$640 also covers the candidacy, ie, you have the right to call yourself a CFA candidate. Considering membership fees are so expensive, $640 including exam and texts is actually not bad.
^_^

Where do I order the printed books? In the e-mail it says “Purchase CFA Curriculum option” but I cannot find it.
EDIT: Just found it. Website of CFAI, My CFA - Resources and to the right there is a link.

It is horrible. I hate ebooks. Meaning I paid for something I will never use. I dislike them not giving you a choice of whether you want an ebook or printed version.

Did anyone apply for CFAI scholaship and what’s been your experience with that?

Yes, i applied last year. Didn’t get it. I think they give more priority to level 1 candidates.

No, they don’t this time around. The vitalsource ebook is $150 and should be bought along with the registration.
