The choice is yours, but know this–as bad as you think Level 2 is (and you only scored band 2), Level 3 is worse.
Crap, are you for real? Based on the dragon picture i thought L2 and L3 were different in scope, but similar in difficulty.
1000 Hrs on 2 exams with 2 kids. Respect.

Thank you so much for the advice.
Will you recommend the Vedieos or just schweser books?
Did you take notes? That slowed down my reading/progress a lot but should help momerizing. Wondering about the correct way of doing it.

here is my suggestion:
  • get schweser and start reading in january and make a study plan to finish by 3rd week of April
  • anything you dont understand read the CFAI books for that topic
  • do EOC questions in the CFAI books when you finish each schweser reading
  • last week of april start doing mock exams (schweser + CFAI)
  • the week before the exams i recommend reviewing the mock exams and EOC questions
good luck
i wouldnt waste time on videos. i watched them but i had extra time.
i did take notes. taking notes helps me but you have to do what worked for you before.
taking as many practice exams and doing EOC problems multiple times is the key IMO

I wouldn’t waste time on taking notes, as many people pointed out it takes too much time and it’s not the most efficient way of studying.
I would listen to the videos when you are cooking, washing dishes, clean, basically whenever you can, to utilize every spare moment in your life.

I’ve answered that question before on other threads. Both are very difficult, and it depends on your skills and circumstances. (EG - I’m an accountant, so FRA at Level 2 was still relatively easy. Others say it’s the hardest thing in the entire world.) But IMO, Level 3 is harder than Level 2.

fkcfa, first of all a big respect for the effort you plan to undertake. It’s definitely not easy with a job and small child, but I believe you can do it! You’ve said it yourself, it’s all about planning your time, grinding through questions and that’s it.
I’ve got TimePrep for time management and study strategy schedule, I’ve bought Schweser QBank for practice problems, I plan to solve EOC’s as practice problems in the review phase (last month), also do a mock exam and then more grinding, also a theory review of everything I noted during the first go through the curriculum, and I think that’s more than enough.
Don’t be afraid, L2 is not so horrible as they say - a colleague of mine passed it without a problem, and he started studying only after December exam results (end of January), with crazy working hours (10-13 hours daliy on the job). So it’s possible.

Thanks for sharing Stewart.
I’ve never heard about timeprep before and can do some research online…
