Did I fail L2 because of Ethics?

Here are my results (Band 9):
>70: Equity, AI, Quant
50-70: Corp Finance, Economics, FRA, Fixed Income
<=50: Ethics, Derivatives, Portfolio Mgmt
Also, approximately how many questions did I need to get right to pass?
Obviously, CFA doesn’t give us the raw data to examine, but the more experienced folks on the board might have a better idea than I do.
 
I don’t think so bro, IMHO (obvs nobody can tell you absolutely yay or nay). I failed Ethics and passed. You can look at my numbers under the thread about passing L2 with less than 50% in ethics. You bombed three sections, and only finished 50-70 in two “heavy hitters” (FRA and Corporate Finance). Two of your strengths (AI and quant) are sort of smaller sections.
Sorry bro, keep your head up and knock it out of the part next time!
 
Im honestly surprised this was as high as band 9. You had 25% of the test under 50 (including ethics), and 45% under 70.
That being said, ethics was fucking brutal. Props to anyone who went 70+ on the section, particularly if you were doing it on the mocks as well.
 
Doubtful. Unfortunately two of your three best sections were really low weighted. FRA in the 50-70 range and Derivs below 50 likely played a big factor.
You’ll get it next year! Keep chugging.
 
Nope..I know couple of guys..who passed and scored less than 50 in ethics..I think your score below 70 in FRA, CF and Derivatives pulled your overall score below MPS…
 
To be fair, Ethics was really nuanced and difficult this year. To see so many bomb ethics but pass is odd. Not complaining, because I passed.

Same here man. I bombed Ethics and knew it. It was so vague in Level II that I hated it. Studying Ethics or not had absolutely no bearing on your grade.

I kept hearing this about Ethics, and saw a lot of sub-70% Quant scores, while I thought those two sections were relatively easy and were my only two >70% score sections. My brain must be wired, ummm, differently lol.
 
I was getting sodomized in Ethics in mocks and obviously that trend carried to the exam (<50%)…still passed.
