Did not pass a single mock exam, however, you passed the actual exam...

I’m not.
It’s hard to fathom, but it gives me a lot of hope. I was floating between 58 and 65%. Do you remember your passing score breakdown?

What is the failing score you define? The low 60s? I did 6 practice exams and two full CFAI mocks. Failed the very first two and the last one :(. Sat for the real exam last Sat and now quite worried…. Haiz.

I passed L1 on the first try and never really got above the low 60s in a practice / mock.
Wow.. All of a sudden I feel like I might have pulled it off. Thanks for sharing your experience with us..

Anything less than 70% on a mock/practice is how I looked at it..

My 6-hour exams result were
Scheweser 1,2,3 – 66%, 67%, 57%
CFAI mock – 69%
Lets see the actual

I thought the schweser mocks were very difficult, and far more difficult than the real exam. I thought the CFAI mock was easier, I just hadn’t practiced that material very much. So after doing badly on the mock, what I did was: broke the Schweser exams into sections, and drilled all the ethics, then all the Math, then all the Equity, FI so on and so forth. I kept the lengths very small, so I never did more than 6 problems at once at any time, just to get constant feedback. Thankfully it worked. And when I cracked open the exam, it felt easy.

No point speculating any more….. Just enjoy the Christmas mood and spirit. If you not Christian then enjoy the holidays, shopping sales etc. 28th of Jan will tell you to jump to level 2 or not.

I would feel a lot more secure knowing this were 100% true (who wouldn’t?), and I know of more than one person who scored low 60’s in their mocks and wound up scoring 70%+ in every section.
However I feel that this is just too simple. “The test is easier than the mocks” is a sentiment that I think applies to people who haven’t done enough mock exams. I did 7 mocks total and learned that I often just couldn’t guage the difficulty of the test (sometimes I thought I did great, wound up getting 50%, other times I thought I did poorly and got 70%+).
The AM section I thought was very easy, far more easy than any mock. But I went back at the end of the exam and changed a great deal of answers that, upon second review, were obviously wrong. The PM session I wasn’t fortunate enough to have time to review in as great detail.
FSC, you’re spot on. I had the same experience in my studies.
If you know more than one person that failed the mocks (<70% to save us the arguments), I think we might be in good shape if we broke 65% total on the actual.
The AM was easier than any mock I’ve taken, I totally agree. But I’m not certain I scored 70%+ on it…

You think you scored 70%+ total on the actual exam?
