Do I still have to buy the 2007 Level Curriculum if I have all the texts?

I wrote the L1 exam back in June 2005 and was unsuccessful but I've decided to take another crack at it in June next yr. However I've seen that CFAI has repackaged their material for the 2007 exam and are selling the whole curriculum for a whooping $370 which I think is grossly unfair to those who already purchased the texts. I don't think I'll be purchasing that curriculum but would that leave me at a big disadvantage for the exam??

i personally dont think they can change the curriculum much in two years. the major topics and concepts are the same and would remain the same. they can add some more detail to it. you can try buying the e-books of schweser or stalla for 2007, try searching for any site early next year and you would find some offers for 20-30 bucks. meanwhile go ahead with the curriculum you have. all these companies need to sell material each year and hence try to give an impression they are totally revising the curriculum and i believ its mostly a business tactic

I think the GIPS component is new. Am sure there are other changes. I think its worth the investment to get updated material.
