While it is important to know the formulae, it is more important to understand what a particular formula does and why. If you approach it from the direction of understanding rather than memorization, it will reduce the brainload. There are plenty of things that you may need to memorize, but if you understand the concepts it makes it less of a mental lookup exercise.

suave_finesse, do you have a problem with Asians? Are you racist and are proud of that? Do you feel insecure? Can only non-Asians post on this board?

Frankly, if I am right about what I think you are, rational people here would be having much more fun thanking god almighty that they are not like you.

Did he really say that?! If I was Asian (I'm not), I might well include that in my user name and be proud that my heritage includes some of the greatest achievements of humankind. If I was to make such ignorant comments, I would absolutely not include the adjective "suave" in my username. Suave, time to apologize and get it right.

Yes, he did - i reported the post and mods obliged by removing it. But it was part of my reply to him and I cannot edit it out.

I am a little lost as to why "Suave's" post was so offensive? Maybe I am interpreting it wrong but I thought he/she was saying to change their username before they post again because the initial question was a little naiive and to be taken seriously in the future they would be better off having a different name.

There could have been more to the post I did not see. Enlighten me please.

My comment was in reaction to the following post:

My take was that "oatmeals2" was implying that "asianl6" is Chinese at which point, in all humor, I thought I should demonstrate my quant prowess and show-off my porbability skills. And also, remind oatmeals that Asians as a population should include Indians as a sample ( and heck, he should like India Tandoori Chicken too, not just Kung Pao Chicken).

Thanks to "bullet" (may your tribe increase) who saw my other point so clearly that as someone who asked a naive question, if I post any other questions, I could never be taken seriously. ( Its called "credibility, or lack thereof")

Finally, "CFAAtlanta" and "JoeyDVivre", before you fly off the handle and call me a racist pig ( and invoke the moderator Gods of this forum who punish me with 100 hours of community service) know that I am Asian, am very patriotic and very proud of my accomplishments.

But then, if I have hurt any of ye senstive souls out there, please ( sob sniff sniff) forgive my brash in-sensitive remarks and promise that you will vote for me as your next mayor.

All right pals, time for a group hug :-( ( or better still, time to get back to study and STOP HANGING OUT IN SUCH SILLY THREADS)
