Do you consider correctly guessed points in PM when scoring?

To those guys who reported their score for Multiple choices (not constructed response).
Do you consider point earned using guess work? (educated or uneducated)
Just trying to understand where I stand… I just took 2015 AM mock and I scored 60% Discounting guessed answer.
Thanks

What was your score including guesses? If it it too high, then you have good luck with you and have nothing to worry :))

I’d include them. You are as likely to get a guess right in the mock as you are on exam day, and the Institute won’t know you guessed.

I agree with CFA Camp.
just make sure you mark it as wrong for review but score you should include it.

If I consider guesses, I have got 70%.
some of them are educated guesses.
I am just curious where do I stand on the curve on the forum.
I see people have reported 78-85%
Anyone has their 2015 Mock exam scores without guesses? what are some scores?

i would say don’t get caught up on those scores cause a lot of people who post scores in the 80s fail and people who struggle to get 60s pass. this is the championship game anything can happen

You are getting into representative bias - specifically sample size neglect. AF is a very small sample of the total population of L3 candidates. Last year, I took 2 mocks only for Level 2, scored 64% in both and passed with more than 70%. Don’t get hung up with this…Although I know anxiety creates all these questions.

I count educated guesses, because deduction skills are rewarded on exam day.
Pure guesses ? I don’t count them.

Come on now math people. The answer is clear from a probability standpoint. You should naturally guess 33% right. Take total number of guessed questions and multiple by 33% and compare this to what you guessed right. As long as it is reasonbly close its all good.

How hardcore are these guesses? Literally just choosing A? If so, do not count them and most importantly address them immediately!
If im purely guessing I spend extra time looking at that problem after the mock. At this point you’re probably more than likely making an educated guess between two choices which im sure will happen on the real exam.

Sometimes I have the feeling that my whole life is an educated guess.

Path dependency for sure… Monte carlo simulation should suffice. NO MVO FOR YOU

If you don’t count your guesses you’ll get unnecessarily stressed. I’d leave any educated guesses in. You can smooth your results but replacing all total guesses (correct and incorrect) with a third of a mark, and any 50/50s with a half mark.

This is what I did.
(1) if i absolutely sure, i will mark and move forward.
(2) if I am partially sure but somewhat unsure i can elimante one of them easily and take a guess i’d answer and mark that as guess.
(3)If i am absoloutely not sure, instead of guessing I left them blank
Counting only (1) = 60%
Counting (1) and (2) = 70%
(2) and (3) is where i go back and learn.

Whoa! may be I am too exhausted and my brain was completely fried when I was done with the exam in the evening (which made me feel like the exam was tough). I ended up at 80% with 4 silly mistakes…else could have been higher.
