Doostang

I remember when it was free and got banned twice because I was applying for jobs. IMO, LinkedIn is much more valuable.

Honestly I feel like you could use www.indeed.com. Most of the positions out there that I’ve come across can be accessed through that site for free. I second bpdulog on the LinkedIn observation as well.

I signed up when it was free and was very unimpressed with it. After a day I was frustrated and gave up.

I had a thread on this a couple of weeks ago.
Doostang lists some awesome jobs. In fact, I’d say that at least half of the jobs I’d want to apply to on indeed.com link to doostang. On my original thread some people found the site helpful while others got nothing out of it.
On the web, I have read that some of Doostang’s post are extremely dated.
Finally, Doostang was created mainly for Ivy Leauge grads. If you notice, a lot of the people who got jobs (posted on Doo’s website) were grads from MIT, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc… Now if your like me, I didn’t go to one of these schools so it may not even be worth your time to apply via this site.

BigRed, Ladders is a great site if you have the qualifications. I am not at that level but still have a free membership as they give great career advice and you get a good feel of jobs that are out there and may be within reach in a few to several years (in my case at least).

I got a couple interviews off of Doostang when it was free. Once they started charging $ I dropped it like KarenC dropped brianr. That site is dead unless it goes back to free.
