Hi All,

I will take exam in June 08 and I only have Schweser notes.

Do you recommend to buy CFA recommended textbooks for econ (Parkin)and FSA (White)?

I am not sure when I will register for the exam due to personal reasons, therefore I will not have the CFAI books for a while unless I find really cheap ones to buy.

Thanks,

If you are sure you are going to take the exam in June, you might as well register now and get your books and then study whenever you have time. I don't see a reason to by those two books and then register and receive whatever the books are that the CFAI requires.

you can go through schweser until you are sure of writing the exam. once you register you will anyway get the material from CFA. i would suggest not to buy any extra material, its just waste of cash.

Ok, thank you very much!
I guess registration has not started yet...

To get a working knowledge of FSA, the White-Sondhi book was essential - work out the end-of-chapter problems and check against the solutions manual.
But that book was not sufficient - their focus was more on analysis and assume you had quite a bit of accounting background. To get clearer explanations of accounting procedures, use Kieso, Keygandt.

is the white-sondhi solutions manual available?. i thought it was out of print.

I am quite certain that when you register for the June '08 examination, you will receive the bundled readings once the fee is paid. There is no need to buy separate texts unless you wish to read and study chapters not required by the CFAI.
