Elan Mock 3 Morning - Question 110

This has to be the toughest mock I’ve taken! but I think there was an error with this question, it says that you can only withdraw up to your initial margin requirement. Are you not able to withdraw funds as long as you are above your maintenance marging. Can someone confirm?

Wouldnt that defeat the purpose of having an initial margin?

I have always wondered about withdrawing. That makes sense though - to only withdraw up to the initial margin. If you withdraw down to your maintenance margin, you’ll likely receive margin calls a lot. The maintenance margin is there are a safety net and they do not want you getting close to that threshold.
