I have my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering, which are aren't exactly core quantitative disciplines such as Physics. I was wondering if it shall be more feasible to make a head way into the finance sector going through the quantitative route (programming / quantitative analyst) or by going through the analytical route (Financial Analyst). I'm currently employed in a financial firm, though my job profile is more IT related. I work with databases, pulling data and producing financial reports and am less involved in the actual analysis or business. My previous work experience (1 yr) has also been into IT (programming / software development). I'm also registered for the CFA exams and shall be taking the Level 1 exam this December 2006.
Thanks.
Thanks.
