You know, once you spend a decade in finance these newbies are only lightly amusing.

Some entry level accountant rule-follower with the title of "manager" at one of our officies acting like she is the big cheese know-it-all. We do a call to get her up to speed on what's up, she really can't understand anything I'm saying (and I'm already dumbing it down, bigtime), she's got tunnel vision wrapped up in world of variance analysis and corporate-speak. Then she sends a billion emails "confirming receipt of this", "have not received direction, awaiting orders", monster over-communication in the CYA style of little brained people. Prone to ankle-biting acts of grand silliness and deludes herself into thinking this makes her smart.

C'mon kiddo, get real!

this is funny as hell. If she's a brown bagger then it may be time to give her the boot...

...after you brown bag of course, gotta take that aggression out on someone!

Really? I always just assumed that everyone was my age, male, and white (not that that is my demographic profile...). You've opened my eyes teacher.

Sorry I'm bored today.

I think her behavior is pretty typical of what you would normally see in operations. Especially mid-management.

Friggin' hell. This is so true. "As per my email dated...." "As per my understanding..." CYA-Bullcrap. Bet she copies the world on the emails too? I am comforted knowing I ain't the only one out there that this bugs the crap out of. Im my experience the worst ppl for doing this are anyone who has ever worked for any of the Big 4. I wouldn't last a week...

+1, my level of interest in this topic is directly correlated to her appearance.

Score! She was an auditor at some Asian firm actually.

Oh one word rings off my tongue. It begins with C and ends with T. "As per my post dated c0/u0/n0". I feel like saying grow a set of bollox...as Gordan Ramsey would shout.

It would be tacky to rate my coworkers on a 1-10 scale or to share pics on the net, who does that?!

So instead I'll use a binary scale. Hottness on/off = OFF. Asian mystique yes/no = NO. Decision 5-beer go/pass = PASS.

That's what the brown bags are for!

Purealpha,
Once, a year ago or so, I was leaving work quite late (8pm) and decided to make a phone call across the ocean to explain a minor problem to a new entry-level colleague, cause otherwise I would not be able to call her until late next day. Before the call I mentioned the problem to my boss, she got it in a second. My colleague from NYC kept me on the phone for 2 hours! She got better since, now she is not that stupid any more.

I actually think you are the problem - what do you expect from entry level "people"? It takes time to learn.
