Fundamental value, long only, long/short or event driven where bottom-up analysis is employed....

Long-only is where I have direct experience. My sense is long / short funds would be more likely to look at prop traders (equity focused), while event driven funds like banking / transactional experience.

depends... some l/s funds are research driven and employ a lot of research analysts. at the l/s fund i used to work at all the PMs had research background.
