I am very interested in the energy industry, particularly O&G. Since I don’t have a technical background and most of the jobs in the industry require engineering or some science degree, obviously my finance background isn’t valued much. I was on the GARP website and came across this certification. It’s also endorsed by the API (American Petroleum Institute).
Just wondering for you guys here who are into FRM or the risk management industry, how much is ERP valued/recognized? I am currently working with a start-up, but my future goal is to be in the energy industry. My plan is to be continue working with the start-up and then few years down (3-4), apply for an energy MBA program. I know many schools have started specializing in it. So, I am guessing the ERP would stand out on my applications?
Your comments will be highly appreciated.
TIA.
