Dear all,

This type of thread may have already been here, sorry for opening it again...

I failed my last attempt (Level I Dec 05);

What I observed is that I had high scores in all areas, except Ethics and Derivatives...

I devoted less time to ethics, but anyway its a tricky and vital part of the exam...

<<<Could you propose the correct approach to preperation for ethics???>>>

Thanks in advance,

koSTARica

This is my first attempt (december 2006). So, I think I'm not qualified enough to give
any advice, but...

I'm trying to read some readings from Ethics & Professional Standards every day, after
I finish lectures i have planned for that day. Sometimes it works, sometime doesn't ;)

Nice one...

I like it.... and whenever you do practice questions (TestBank Software more convinient), one should add several questions from ethics!

thnx for reply!

Good Luck with your exam!;)

koSTARica, as I see, You have some experience with this exam...
Could You, please, tell me (I'm asking Your subjective oppinion) what topic is the hardest one?
To be honest, I'm in panic about this exam. One of my older collegues (he earned his CFA Charter) told me it is not so hard as it looks like. But, I don't buy that.

yes I do have some experience:)

And to tell you honestly "the exam" itself two 3 hour sessions is just something:)
Its not easy to withstand the pressure on the exam, you become pretty tired... you gotta watch time....

Anyway, about the topics covered - Firstly the topics which you've never met before will be the hardest;

But again the "most" Hardest for me was Ethics! The questions are pretty tricky...

I was pretty under pressure when exam approached and didn't have much time for last 2 study sessions...

It is not easy- you gotta study hard- and do many practice questions- CFA has practice tests each costing 50$ - pretty expensive, but close to actual exam...

GL!!!

kostarica.........can i add you to msn as well....im sitting level 1 for first time and find ethics boring

Sure you can add me to MSN...

But what timezone do you live?

I usually turn my MSN after work at home from about 19:30 (Moscow time) I live in Tbilisi, Georgia and our we are aligned to Moscow time...

We could Discuss CFA stuff on MSN...
---------------------------------------------------------

As to the subject- I think that having software like Allenresource TestBAnk would come very handy--- as you can do test from different subjects simultaniously- and my Idea is (also Saler proposed) to do several ethics questions everyday along with other questions...

And for that you need to start with ethics Study Session first in order to have all material read for the tests beforehand...

For previous exam I read ethics last... and it really had "influence" on my score...

Good Luck!

OK so it will be -2 hours then... when here is 19:30 in london its 17:30 ;)

GL!

Isn't it -3 hours? 19:30 Moscow is 16:30 in London?

Now is 10:45 AM in Belgrade, and Time Zone is GMT + 01. In Moscow is GMT +03. Am I right?

I'm not trying to be smart. Just asking.

PPatel,

You said: "....im sitting level 1 for first time and find ethics boring". That's more than true!
But, try to understand this: that is maybe most important part of Your exam. That makes
difference between "pass" and "fail". Realy. Study that hardest You can!

Wish You Good Luck!
