With the Exam round the corner I was thinking what advice do u guys have concerning the exam proper.

Personally what I have noticed doing exam questions most of my errors have been from not reading the question properly.

Over complicating the exam questions in my head.

Not Trusting my instincts

Being to fast too make a conclusion about a particular question.

Additional comments are welcome
 
Being too worried about speed.

Getting each answer right should count much more than number of questions attempted.

Why do you think D would be the wrong answer?
 
I think the biggest issue is reading a question and not reading all the potential answers!!

For long questions, I think it helps to read the end of the question first... figure out what the hell they're looking for. Then go to the details.

If it's a calculation question, I DO NOT look at the multiple choice options because they frequently bias you to do something incorrect.... like use variance rather than stddev...

As mentioined previously, the most important thing is to read the question carefully and fully understand the question, even though it is definitely going to take time. If you don't do this, it is kind of like leaving a putt short in the sense that you are guranteed not to make it.

At least that is my $.02.
 
i'll spend the next few days figuring out my strong areas.

if i can get an 80% on my stronger half of the curriculum, i only need a 50% on my weaker half for a good shot at passing.

Golden words.. My strategy is something similar to this.
 
I agree with all the answers of the original poster. I read the questions entirely too fast and think I know the answers before I'm done reading the question. I don't want to run out of time so I get frustrated easily and start picking answers because I feel I'm spending too much time on one question. I have until Friday to get this issue worked out. :)
