Excel for investment managmt

Hi all,

Been seeing a lot of questions posed for excel spdsheet help but it's all asking for corpfin modeling i.e DCF.

Are there any buyside analysts out there that can suggest where to get spdsht for investment management i.e for portfolio management, risks, charting etc. Any providers like Wall St or free spdsheets online?

Almost through Valuation by McKinsey & Co. I'm fairly new, (last day of being a BOM was Friday) so can anyone comment on it's relavance to actual valuation techniques? Also, there is a $120 CD-Rom "valuation spreadsheet" that is available to purchase, does anyone know if it's worth it? Thanks in advance.
