feel like giving up

^ maybe because you were being too mopey. girls don’t see that as a good trait in men

See a therapist, although he will probably give the same advice. If you pay him well enough maybe he’ll send some Prozac your way. Other than that there is still booze and escorts…welcome to the world of finance by the way. ;)

vicky is a dude???
life blows in the first world, and is worse in a place like india where it’s hyper competitive and environment are ground to stubs. Take some time to recover and then come back stronger, what else have you got to lose?
People admire straight A people who have never failed in their lives. I admire people who have been destroyed over and over again and come back stronger every time. In terms of real wealth, the latter will rarely ever have as much, but damn do they have a story to tell.
Make your bed and lie in it.

I very much disagree. Those who fail are actually the ones who get back stronger and more aggressive and accumulate much more wealth than the straight A people you are referring too. Those staight A people have always been in their comfort zone, but once you fail you don’t only want to get back on track, you want to conquer. Of course there are always outliers but I am saying failure could ignite some great passion and dedication!

^ Dude, those “straight A” people work and study very hard. You say it like they were handed those A’s.

American education system is fucked up, it forces people to game the system and many people with real talent are ignored because of something like GPA.

Vicky,
The best thing you can do for yourself right now is probably to turn off this computer, close your books, and go make some friends in the real world. When things are so bad (or feel so bad) you can’t talk about them with your family or colleagues, you need friends - not a bunch of digitalized strangers like me who don’t know the first thing about your life, but real human beings who know you, your culture, your background and who can look you in the eye when you tell them your story.
There are great people on this forum, but you sound rather lonely, and an online forum is not the best place to truly fix that. Go out, get involved with your community, help others, get to know the people around you, get interested in their lives rather than just worry about yours, and who knows, you may start to feel better.
+1
