So this weekend I'll be hitting up B&N to pickup a few books and I was wondering if you guys could recommend some good finance books for beginners that are in college.

Thanks in advance

The Intelligent Investor by Ben Graham was the first finance book I read while a freshman in college. I highly recommend that as your first read.

Aww man, it's like the same damn threads every day now. This has been discussed over and over. Use the search function. I'll throw you a bone thouugh:

http://www.amazon.com/General-Investing-Business-Books/b/ref=dp_brlad_entry/102-7667068-1459319?ie=UTF8&node=2669

One tip: There are some very good books there, and some terrible ones. It's unfortunate that Cramer and RDPD are at the top of the list.

I'd actually read Security Analysis first, but you can't go wrong with Intelligent Investor either. Either will challenge and occupy you, especially if you have a remotely challenging courseload. They'll also give you context for all the later books on finance. Capital Ideas, Against the Gods and Fooled by Randomness are also great if you have time before you have to focus on the nitty-gritty.

Read Monkey Business. It'll make you re-think your goals of I Banking

Here's your first finance lesson: Don't pay full price for books (plus tax) at B&N. If you can wait a few days for shipping, amazon.com, half.com, and eBay are all cheaper. Amazon is also a good source for reviews.

Or, if you're a BN member like me, use BN.com, which will generally match other online prices, plus 10% off and free shipping.

How much to become a member, exemp? Do you mean 10% off online prices or in store prices?

$25 to become a member for one year. Gets you 10% off all stores and online. Considering this includes DVDs online, it's pretty sweet. I made my $25 back just Xmas shopping.
