Hi Guys,
Hope your life are as good as mine is :-)
Although I have a fancy job, I’ll apply for a position of Junior Financial Analyst.
My CV is ok but I’m stuck with the cover letter…I cannot explain why the job is so attractive to me - like interpret information, search for, etc…
Has someone already sent such a letter? What did you put in it? (not the hard skills gained by experience but more what the job is attractive to you)
I’ll really appreciate your help. Thanks!
Paul

I’m excited about the job because I have been eager to do investment analysis for a long time - studied Finance in undergrad (if you did), started the CFA program (if you did), etc - and this fits my career goals.
If you have some reason why you like this particular company - noticed it in the WSJ once et.c. That can help.
If it’s a lower-level job (Which Junior Financial Analyst sounds like), you can often get away with just saying that you’re excited about the industry for X, Y, and Z reasons and that this looks like a great opportunity to go the next step. You can also use this argument for role changes. Remember to add info about how you are prepared for this change, so you don’t sound like someone who was a fashion model and has casually decided to be a dentist now.
More senior positions generally require that you be more enthusiastic about working for a specific company, or be more detailed about why you want those responsibilities.

Hi,
it would be useful to know what is your current job and why would you like to change it.
Also, what are your future prospects on the long run (professionally speaking).
If you let me know, I might eb able to give you some ideas.
Cheers,
Teodora
