In exam 1 (AM)

Solution for Q18 (exam 1 AM) shows calculation as 1.0139 (bid rate) but as given in the question, the bid rate should be 1.0135.
Solution for Q23 : can anyone please show me how to calculate 34*0.54/5=5 ? This is what they gave as answer! I was like WTF… Go back to primary school instead of sitting there and writting all of these so-call ‘ “CFA mock exams” and sell to us when u cant even calculate probaly !

+1
I use their item set questions. So many of their answers are wrong. In one residual income item set they put the equity charge as the residual income amount.
I haven’t touched their mock exams yet and I probably won’t due to these errors. You waste so much time going through all the errors thinking you have gotten it wrong when you probably haven’t.

Yea, I did some of their item set questions and was noticing so many errors that it made me question whether or not the other answers I didnt know if they were telling me the correct answers. I actually stopped even using them because of this. How can I properly learn anything if I dont even know if the answers they are telling me are right or wrong? Brutal.

Worst 100 bucks i have ever spent. Damn. Is there any better provider out there?

It’s not just the amount of errors. It is also the questions they are asking. In my opinion way too much detailed what they want to know and therefore so difficult.
Definitely not worth 100$.

Where was this thread 3 days ago!!!! Just spent 100 bucks on finquiz mock on Monday. Haven’t looked at them yet. Tempted to not do them at all. They don’t clear these up in the errata?

oh dear, I was thinking of buying the Finquiz mocks as well as I heard they were pretty challenging.
The last thing you need when you’re trying to cram so much information in your head is to be confused by mock papers. Imagine if you missed a point on the exam because of an error you hadn’t detected in a 3rd party mock!

If you put the errors aside and know the curriculum well enough to be able to tell them straight away, the item sets are good. They are hard and test sometimes the most esoteric concepts, however they really make you go back to the reading and scruitinize everything. I believe doing these will make you more confident when you attempt easier questions.
I find more value in doing these item sets than say schweser questions. I haven’t even looked at the schweser concept checkers/challenge problems this year, they are absolutely pathetic.

Do try Questions from Konvexity provider
They are damn good based on CFa book examples and EOC
Free CFA level II Item Sets | konvexity
They are free also. I doing them
Thanks for this, I’m going to give these item-sets a shot later this week. Speaking to finquiz item sets-I’ve had the same problems, but I think troglji hit the nail on the head in that they are still better then schweser if you’re cognizant of the potential errors.
These kind of prep-provider short comings makes you wonder if putting the work in to creating a prep package like finquiz, and selling it, would be worth the effort? It seems the competition is lacking in different areas.

Has anyone done their Ethics item sets. If so, can you give your opinion on whether they cover Ethics properly?
I did horribly on them - 4/6 Soft Dollar, 2/6 ROS, 22/36 for part 1 Ethics (there are more item sets but I didn’t do them all). I haven’t gone through the answers yet, hopefully their is some errata.

their ethics are the most valuable part of all IMO. Quite a few tricks that kicked u in the teeth. 6 questions x 6 paper… Hope that the real thing’s tricks will fall into some of these. I think they covered most tricky parts ofbthe material.

do tell me how u find them coz i am scoring 60% on an average in konvexity itemsets

Jaychou,
Yes it’s tricky but are their answers for Ethics definitely correct?
Half of the ones I got wrong I still do not understand after reading the answer.

well i have just finished exam 1&2 so not sure abt 3 yet. But in 1&2, i checked their answers against the curric and found them in there , so they appear to be legit to me. Do you have a any particular questions that u are doubting their answers? Can u tell me which ones? I can double check again.

I have done some of the questions from the question bank, not from the mock exam. Have you done those at all? Let me know, if so I could show you some of the ones I am doubting.

i only bought Finquiz mock exams for $100 . They’re tricker than Scheweser (which I am also doing at the moment)
