Today i received an offer of 80% discount from Finquiz, this means that i can get the premium package for about 80$ (notes, qbank..etc) and wonder if you should buy it.
Since the opinions are very different on this forum in regarding prep providers, please just grade your experience with finquiz on a scale from 1 (terrible) to 10 (clear and wortwhile)
Thank you.

I used Finquiz in 2015, there’s a lot of error in their material, the Qbank’s difficulty is above average & too much emphasis on calculation - overall score is 3 or even lower. It’s really waste of money & time.

I wouldn’t use it exclusively, but I also bought it on a deal and thought it was money well spent as an additional resource. The summarys were useful and some parts of the mocks.

I did not use Finquiz, but for what it’s worth, I have seen very little positve feedback on the AF forum.

I bought one of their “private” deals back in October 2014 for around $60 if my memory serves me right. I’d rate the material as 1 on your scale.
I reviewed some of the material but decided to ditch all of it as my studying got more serious because I did not find the notes helfpul and, quite frankly, the poor grammar really bothered me.

I failed level 3 last year primarily due to a poor afternoon score. I utilized Finquiz exclusively to practice multiple choice and aced the afternoon this year. I strongly recommend it as a supplement to you CFA textbooks.

well, i guess i’ll stick to the CFAI material and some Schweser stuff.
I read about Finquiz on other forums and it seems that there are a lot of errors in their material…i don’t have time for that…
thank you for your input.

Smart Summaries - A
Practice Questions - C
Mock Exams - B-

I used FinQuiz for Levels II and III. I used them mainly for their quick summaries and mock questions. The quick summaries are great for a quick glance when you have some throwaway time (on hold at work, subway, bathroom), but is not a substitute for the real deal. The mock questions for LIII were probably not worth it, as the questions are not even close to what you see on the real exam. However, for eighty bucks, grab the summaries.

I passed this year on my 2nd attempt (band 7 last year) and I used Finquiz notes and absolutely loved them. They are meant to be used together with the curriculum, BBs and EOC Qs. Saved a TON of time compared to reading the curriculum which allowed me to hit the mocks early. Also used their Q bank to drill down. Didn’t touch their summaries or Mocks.
But I did read the full curriculum on my first attemp and I re-read all IPS this year just in case. I didn’t feel re-reading the whole CFAI curriculum again was the best way to use my time and I was right.
At the end of the day the most important part of prepairing for the test is the Mock phase. The quicker you can get to it the better. If you plan on reading the curriculum I recommend starting early.
By the way, I used Schweser’s mock books 1 and 2 for the PM and they were great.

same as me .. failed band 7 2 years back, and retook.
I used SCH notes and then used Finquiz QBANK for practice. That’s only reason i got finquiz - cheap$$ access to a qbank for practice. I realize the difficulty of QBANK may not be same as the actual exam - but it does help you practice/undertand the materials well. Never really read the CFA books (other than ethics).
I did very well in PM - which is a must to pass this exam. Part of it had to do with Finquiz QBANK practice .

Smart Summaries are top notch. They’re perfect for final review. I looked at one of their mocks and it was basically a recycled version of the 2013 exam.

Finquiz offered me lifetime access and an evening with Jane Brown for $1, and I still marked as spam.

paid about 30$ for which i got the summaries, the study plan and a formula sheet. The summaries seem very nice. Study plan ..meh. The formula sheet , i don’t know yet how usefull it will be….remains to be seen

I used FinQuiz in my second attempt and oh boy glad that i did. I used mainly the Smart Summaries/Notes which were concise, easy to understand, it helped with memory retention of several key points. It definitely helped me grab additional points on exam day…so no thinking twice. Just go for it.

With Schweser Qbank, you’ll feel high. You’ll think you’re the smartest guy in the forum. You’ll feel you’ll ace the test. You’ll become arrogant and delusional. Some say that Donald Trump is using them. On D day you’ll realize you’re screwed the Russian style (counter clockwise)
finquiz’ practice questions are humbling. They’ll prepare you for the worse.
So it’s your choice, enjoy life from now until exam day and carry a good feeling (Schweser); or feel being continuously under pressure (finquiz).
