hi guys ….
i am really trying to find some help … but no one seem to really tell me …..
i have both 6 mocks of schweser and 6 of FinQuiz … but i have very limited time… hardly to do 6 mocks in all …
please tell me which one i should choose out of the two suppliers … and of Schweser which practice book mocks are the most difficult ones…
also how is FinQuiz mock as compared to Schweser mock ?…
thanks …
i will really appreciate some help here as i am already struggling..

You’ve got too many Mocks! I’ve just got Schweser and with my 10+ hour a day job, I’m not sure I’ll even finish four of those.

precisely my point … thats why i need to cherry pick … and need to know which one wil be the best to use ….

I went a bit overkill with mocks…I have 6 schweser, 6 fin quiz, 3 Konvexity and 3 passed tense…along with some CFAI passed papers.
ive completed 2 Schweser, 2 Finquiz, 1 Konvexity and 1 Passed tense along with the 2012 and 2014 CFAI mock.
my least favourite are Schweser…I don’t think I shall be doing any more of them, and will concentrate on the others. The Finquiz ones much tougher than the Schweser ones in my opinion….to the extent that I’m getting 75% in Schweser and around 55-60% in Finquiz . The Konvexity questions are also tougher….with the passed tense ones being on a par with Schweser but much better written (in my opinion).
i feel the wording of the Finquiz ones are more similar to the actual CFAI ones than Schweser so more useful in that sense. Although, they don’t do much for confidence levels when you get such a low score…so perhaps try to complete 2/3 of each.
Also don’t forget you have the official CFAI mock available online….that one has to be número uni in terms of importance!!

I’m sorry man/woman! but what’s up with your screen name???????????

I think Schweser with CFAI online sectional tests should give you tons of work/practice.

Two of my friends who cleared L2 last year advised me to get absolute mastery over 6 schweser tests.( one of them got all sections 70+, another one got 70+ in 9 sections) they never used anything except schweser.
PS: both of them are engineers
Coming to my strategy : I will take 2 FLTs (one CFAI 2015 mock, another one last Schweser test)
Currently I am doing revison of combined sections. (Resource for practise CFA EOCs, Schweser Boxes, First 3 mocks of schweser)..I am occasionally checking up with previous CFAI mocks, where even if I am scoring well, but they are taking more time than I 18 mins.
Lets see how does it pan out. Till then I am ostracizing sleep.

I have both Finquiz and Schweser. Finquiz is great is you really want to know the material. They’re harder. Personally, I’m only doing Schweser mocks since all I’m trying to do at this point is stay fresh on all the topics. I’m going for a 70% not a 90%+.

i will be appearing for the live Schweser mock this saturday anyways …. thats 1.
i will be attempting the CFA mock on either sunday or tuesday …. thats 2..
on an average how many mocks are you guys planning to take up …

I don’t have FinQuiz mocks but I have FinQuiz question bank. I agree that their questions are tougher than those of Schweser mocks.
I plan to take up to 4 full mocks (including 2015 CFAI ones) and only work on weak areas for the rest.

From my time with Schweser mocks so far they are good but no substitute for the CFAI material. Know how to do every blue box and every EOC and you will be in great shape. Schweser mocks are good in my opinion but if you only have limited time don’t overlook the CFAI material

im doing the EOCs and BBs these days … thank u for the advices …. really appreciate

I bought the fully loaded (Level II) FinQuiz pack in late winter–they ran some ridiculous deal for people who get their e-letter… (hoping that repeats itself). I also bought AnalystNotes, which seems as solid as it does sketchy, and its bright spot is the ability to compare your mock exam results globally.
Fortunately, I’m able to spend 100% of my time prepping from now until the exam, so I’m hoping to use these two resources to reinforce and tie up loose ends after reading the CFAI-issued curriculum, which I think was smart.
Right now, I’m using FinQuiz Mock #1 as open-book cannon fodder, because this thing seems a bit overkill. I felt like AN was already pretty in-depth, but this stuff is really granular, in the weeds, and loaded with reading comprehension and logic twists, making it a real beast. I’m hoping this is doing the opposite to my test-taking ability of what it’s doing to my confidence levels. I guess my one concern is not being able to see the forest for the trees with these FQ mocks… My plan with these is to work my way through them, checking my answers as I go; transition to the globally-ranked AN tests for a pulse check; and then finish with the official CFAI 2015 mock. Anyone doing something similar?

^ Good description of FinQuiz.
I don’t have enough time to get caught up in minutiae.

I have gone through FinQuiz extensively and done Schweser too. FinQuiz goes into nitty-gritty but I don’t know how much of that is going to be useful at the exam. I think the exam is going to focus on getting the concepts right. I would recommend CFAI mocks, BB and EOC and 3 Schweser mocks. I think that is all the time you will have before the exam.
