Reminds me of an interview I had for a retail sales position (financial advisor) with a large well known mutual fund company. I was introduced to the Regional Manager and she sat down with me for a few minutes to begin part 2 of what was to be a 5 part interview. Towards the end of the interview she asked me to do a roll play as if she was the customer and I was the advisor. Of course most conversations like that start out as "Well Mr/Mrs. ______, what brings you in to see us today." Only problem was that I couldn't remember her name and she was just about done with setting up the scenario and I was going to have to start at any second. I was in the middle of my opening line......furiously trying to think of a way around having to say her name, when I noticed her business cards sitting on her desk, facing away from me. I scooted way forward in my chair.....as if I was getting ready for a serious sales effort and managed to peek a glimps at her name on the cards. I was saved thanks to those business cards....and the fact that she didn't catch me take a peak at them.
