FRED Add-In (Beta) for Microsoft Excel

I just downloaded it yesterday. It’s amazing. They did a really good job on it and it’s very easy to learn and work with (took me about 3 minutes to figure it out). You have access to a very large amount of data and the features it has are great. It creates another tab thing in the Excel ribbon.
 
Socrates, it does look awesome, but I can’t get the FRED data to load. Regardless of the SeriesID I put in it just says it is invalid. Any suggestions?
 
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! loves it. greyhound make sure you enable data connections as per the installation instructions.
 
This is a pretty powerful thing. I just got it working. The problem was actually with my office’s web proxy
 
Good, glad you got it working. It really is powerful. You have access to so much information, so quickly, and in a very usable format. The only thing that can make it better is if it automatically matched up dates when you bring in multiple datasets.
 
I like it.
It did add to my Excel load time so added a button to the quick access toolbar to toggle it on and off with a macro.
 
I don’t know if anyone else saw, but they released an iPhone app so you can access all the FRED info on your phone. It’s not the best medium to deal with the massive amount of data you can get, but it’s nice to be able to pull up a graph on just about any economic statistic whenever you want.

Glad this thread was refreshed because I forgot about it. Just downloaded. Haven’t used it, but looks pretty sweet. Thanks recycler.
 
I just don’t get why the guy in the video whispered throughout the demo.
