How hard is this? I scored 53% :(

http://www.schweser.com/online_program/pre1_exams.php

Most of Schweser tests are very simple. I used them for Level 1 and found them to be very easy compared to the actual CFA exams

*warning this exam is 118 questions, allow yourself enough time*

I scored 117/120 and completed the test in 53 minutes. it is nothing like the actual exam

Hey Goldcoins,

Do you know any tests that simulate the real one? How do you know the real one is much harder? Have you taken it before?

Dude...do a search on this very page...there's prob 3-5 threads that address this topic. And yes, I skimmed thru those questions...the real exam is wayyy more challenging from all accounts of vets on here that have taken it.

They are typically more conceptual in nature and a lot of them have two parts...like you have to identify what happens to a certain ratio and then another one or NI, when one variable is changed, debt increases in cap. structure, etc.

Hints - No, there are no test that stimulate the real onces. Yes, sample test are easier, (however, I have heard that the actual practice exam schweser is harder) but if you can understand the concept behind each questions, that is pretty good for the exam.

Also, try to do more number questions.

Hints, the test I took had 120 questions (i Think). Anyway, I got 3 wrong and the rest were correct.

Yes, I passed level 1 in 2005. I thought I knew ethics very well but I was utterly surprised with the questions. Many GIPS questions. I flunked the ethics section, but managed to pass the level. Since ethics is the first section, it gets demoralizing to encounter tough questions in the beginning of the exam.

Practice is the key. I did not try any question bank. All I used were Schweser and a few text books.

#94 has 3 q's, therefore total 120 q's.
there is no ethics q's, but many probability q's.

I just took a look at this and feel retarded...I've got some major review to do - can't remember the ish from 2-3 months ago.

Is there an answer key that shows the solutions, or do you simply fill in your MC online and then get spit out a percentage?

anybody can explain #12:

The annualized return is: (957.24/934.58)4 = 10.06%?

I got a 59% and it took me close to 4 hours. I don't know if you everybody is being honest, or if they are taking it with the book open, and frankly I don't care. However, I found a lot of weaknesses and formulas I forgot a few months ago. It says the average test taker has gotten a 60% with those scoring under a 36% not counted. I am dissapointed, however this is more reason to review.

***to wxyz, its a misprint. it should be: ( (957.24/934.58)^4 ) - 1 ; I got it wrong too.

(957.24/934.58)^4 = 1.1006
1.1006 - 1 = 0.1006 = 10.06%
