I am a bit stupid, I failed the level 1 in June and I am going to retake it in December.
But I have an excuse I am french and my english is not that good even if I am working in London.
Do u think I can keep my books of June or do I need to order new one ?
But the books from the CFA Institute are too big, what do you think about the ones from Schwester ?

kees, ur not stupid!!
I used Stalla and was happy with them. Shewser is more popular here, but i really urge u to get the CFA books because they have a lot of detail that u might need to understand teh material. i thought it was great for parts that i didnt get because it gave alot of examples and real life applications, made teh readings real and less "tailored to pass the exam"

What did you use this time? If you used the CFAI books, then switch to Schweser. Or go the other way.

60% didn't pass this time so calling yourself stupid is a bit overstated.

English also isn't my native tongue but familiarise yourself with the terms, phrases and questions and it won't be too hard for you.

London rules!

How do you know? The only thing you know about kees is that s/he is french and failed the exam. There are plenty of stupid French people and stupid people fail the exam more easily than smart people.

There are plenty of people of all sorts, obviously.

Lol, I may be, but french and stupid it s a lot !!!!

The question was, can I keep the books of June for the December exam ??????

Joey Thats mean!!
I assumed kees isnt stupid because he chose to do the CFA exam, that should mean something! hehe

Kees, I suggest you do a thorough search on these boards (using the search function and/or browse the more recent posts at random) to retrieve information on different study techniques, study guides and what additional study material people have found useful. It might very well be that your language skills play a lesser role in this than you think. However, you will have to be prepared to put a lot of effort into this, day after day, week after week and there are very few shortcuts.

In short, Yes.

Btw English is no my first language either, and I don't even work in the UK or in any other English-speaking city, so it doesn't necessarily boil down to a language issue.
