Hi everyone
Before posting this note, im not sure if this question is relevant, but I believe it would be very helpful for all who study the third party notes. Therefore, I would suggest if any one who study both curriculum and third party notes recognize the gap between the two will drop some comments here. Because as I read from somewhere, normally exam setter would test 10% in this gap.
How do you think?
Or if anyone already gather that information, I deeply appreciate if you can share here

I don’t fully understand your question, but I can tell you my observations:
Seemingly everyone, including some of the third party providers suggest using 3rd party study materials as suppliment to CFAI text. At the very least you should review the end of chapter questions from the CFAI.
I just completed reading through the CFAI text once and have begun my review going through Schweser. The Schweser material is absolutely more concise and does omit portions of the CFAI text. Whether this omitted information will be tested is impossible to predict. However, I can say that I passed level I without so much as opening the CFAI material (aside from the mock exam) and I passed level II while not reading any CFAI material, only revewing the end of chapter questions.

I personally find the CFAI material way too dull and really stretched out. For the last 2 levels I only used the Schweser notes with the CFAI as supplemental material. I did the EOC questions and read through all the CFAI examples for any of the difficult material I didn’t understand as the CFAI examples are much more thorough.
Will it work this time around? Well I’ll find out come exam day. Usually any “gaps” I find are through the CFAI EOC questions. If I find some EOC questions are referring to material I haven’t seen before, I will go back and review all the “missing” material first and add it to my own personal notes.

There aren’t going to be any large gaps between Schweser and the CFAI texts. The only time I can remember finding something in CFAI that wasn’t in Schweser was on L2, the Ibbotson Chen formula. Pretty sure everyone missed that question anyway.

The exam creators do not read third party material to know what they cover or not to target this gap. They however know exactly what is in their material very well. Compared to other levels, L3 CFAI texts aren’t that thick to read.

So… you want people who have actually spent time reviewing the curriculum AND read the schweser notes for additional throughness give away their competetive advantage by telling you things that Schweser doesn’t cover?
Can retakers please tell us which blue boxes and EOCs are actually worth doing ? I don’t want to waste the time you did, TIA. :)
