I know this is a pretty vague and general topic, but I am returning to take level II in June from a layoff of a few years after passing level 1 on the first go. Just curious if anyone has any relevant tips/advice/special things to be aware of for exam day. Thanks.

Don’t forget your pants on exam day. Last year at my test centre someone was in their pyjamas so I assume they didn’t leave enough time to get dressed in the morning. A key step

I don’t see what’s wrong with sitting the exam in pyjamas - plenty of guys in my centre doing it

there are 6 spaces for your candidate number, so if you have a 5 digit one - leave the first space blank.
the scantron sheet is inside the question booklet - you’re expected to take it out then close the book again - but this instruction is not on the proctor transcript. i think before the two things were handed out seperately.
the order of the vignettes is the same as the syllabus. i.e. starts with ethics ends with PM. this is repeated for AM and PM. just like the mocks.
check the venue, find out if miley cyrus will be doing a sound check next door and if so take ear plugs.
dont wear business attire, or even smart casual, pyjamas are ok or whatever is comfortable.

I was only kidding about the pants. In all seriousness I think time management, both inside and outside the exam is a big key to success. Never count on being able to see a clock inside your test centre, always bring a watch. Arrive early in the morning, and I like to leave my notes in my car so at lunch I can review them. Based on the item sets you got in the morning, if say you haven’t got an alt investment item set yet you know one is coming in the afternoon so I like to refresh myself on that area. Or if they haven’t asked a pension question yet in FRA, there is a really good chance you will probably get one in the afternoon so I would refresh myself on that. Also plan a good spot to go for lunch that won’t be rushed by a ton of people. My work office is a 5 minute drive from the test centre so I bring a lunch and eat it at my office while reviewing notes.

Gauls- you’re an early planner, indeed. I’m guessing you also get a jumpstart when it comes to shopping for XMAS presents…in August. :/
