GIPS and dates - How should one study for that

Hi all, I am currently studying the GIPS and well, wtf.
Is the CFAI seriously expecting candidates to memorise all the changes that occured and at which date ?
This is absurd. It almost feels like a joke.
What is a reasonable strategy here ?

Understand your pain mate.
I really looked at the risk reward ratio of the GIPS stuff. Remember the weightage to GIPS is not much, So I just did the EOC and Schweser questions couple of times.. Joted down these date related questions in a note and kept looking at it daily for 5-10 minutes. There are some formulae stuff in GIPS as well, I did the same with them. So in the end that note is all I looked at!!
