GIPS too boring. what do i need to know?

^+1
on a side note, i only memorized the required sections. but everything is fair game, even on the morning section

Oh boy! That was a 5% exam weight topic area I ended up spending 0% preparation time. Glad

GIPS is sheer brutality. I managed to read through it and do all the exercises but I don’t think I can stomach a 2nd read of this arid material. I’ll probably try to memorize 2/3 of the summary bullets, do some q-banks and hope for the best.

Agreed - I can’t face trying to get through that material in the CFAI book - I felt physically exhausted after about 20 minutes of reading it…
I think I’m going to roll the dice on this one too - try to cram as much of it in my head as I can from (very) condensed 3rd party material and concentrate my time aross other areas. It must be the lowest bang for your buck section in the whole curriculum I would have thought.

Put together a slacker’s version of “what you need to know” that might be helpful if you’re going to avoid the reading altogether.

Add in the Dietz/Original Dietz and real estate calculations and I bet this gets you at least 60% of the points. Obviously this is a hack and a slacker’s approach, there’s no guarantee (but GIPS is SO boring)

review the actual GIPS documentation. its online in pdf format

schweser said not to review actual gips documentation

Hahaha, that answer just made my night. So well said. And I guess around Aug 17 we will all know if we were ready for this right?

You need to know only what they ask on June 4.
