Girlfriend Break-up!!!

^hahahaha atta boy. I nagivate the seas of gf problems everyday trying to explain why im studying and why i couldn’t meet up earlier.

I’m having the opposite problem. Going through terrible heartbreak and I still drag myself to study but the quality has gone down. Good thing I’m only doing EOC questions now because I finished reading the material but my broken heart is heavier than the CFAI Book 2 :(. Any suggestions? Apart from drugs?
 
Yes bourbon has been my new best friend lately. This totally sucks that it had to happen now.

what kind of cold heartless soul would break up with someone just before one of the biggest exams of their life? that should tell you what kind of person they are and allow you to move on………that and there are over a million fish in the sea. go get one of them in 72 days…..
 
Thanks MGR250, appreciate it. The situation is a little more complex than that because we were never together to begin with but it was just always this ‘it’s complicated’ status until it came to a head recently and I realized I was seriously compromising my focus if I didnt get my sh*t together and get some distance from him. I have to admit, re-reading behavioral biases has helped me realize my own folly. Bourbon and you guys are the greatest :)
 
Get a dog after the exam, they’re more adorable, cute as heck and listen better than most men LOL However if you get a good guy, you can train him or the best case, he came pre-trained by someone else…lol
A guy who can’t commit is not one you want to compromise yourself with. Those guys can be on the fence for years giving you the run-around and are totally unreliable => a Bad investment, cut your loss as you have, don’t stay sad too long and reinvest somewhere else with a higher yield: passing L3. Toy with another new guy later.
Worst comes to worst, you can make lots of money and be a Sugarmama to some cutie-pie lol
 
Haha thanks Godism, your encouragement and support helps. I should have dumped that investment months ago but had the irrational thought that things may change (loss aversion anyone?!). I still don’t know if I’ll be strong enough not to talk to him in the upcoming weeks but I’m making sure to study each day after work and during the weekends but also spend time with my friends a little bit and go on the occasional date to keep the sanity. This exam is our last one and hopefully we shall never have to spend another Memorial Day weekend away from Long Beach (sorry NY centric here ). I still have hope that I’ll find someone right for me (after june 6!) and hopefully won’t be the dog, as much as I love them :)

You will be ok, the difference between happy and unhappy people is how quicky they get out of an unhappy state and move on bc we all face misery now and then (somebody close dies, got layed off/fired, served a divorced, lost custody of kids, car accident, etc). Thank God you don’t have those problems before the exam.
You can talk to the guy, but stay polite/short, ideally NO communication. Some people say, wear a rubber band on your wrist, every time you want to talk to him, snap the rubberband LOL Pain will overcome your emotional errors: an attraction to something not good for you.
Men (women too) don’t change, they can only temporily do so bc they want you but then will “revert back to the mean”. Buy it as is or Sell it. The business of changing men is a Value-Trap: you think you found someone great and just need to change a few things, where you can add value, but it will backfire. People don’t change. They have to want to really badly to do it organicly.
Sometimes it takes a woman leaving a guy for them to realize the problem. And then the next girl will benefit from this “training session” on how to please a woman. I consider it community charity work to womankind, I had to improve a few this way.
Have faith, pass L3, you will be beaming after –then your awesome glow will attract the right man for you:)
And join eHarmony or some NY social activity clubs thought I don’t trust random chemistry, you need fundamental compatibilty from a backtested algorithm (e-H) lol.

What would such a call option look like for a girl on a guy sachin? Be friends, keep a eye on him in case he changes later? Like watching paint dry….hahaha
However if your husband would let you have a willing boyfriend, that call option would be In-The-Money!
 
Hahaha well sachin Patel if your wife is smart she must have exercised it because you rose in value in her eyes otherwise it’s pretty worthless right ? Godism is right - watching paint dry is not worth your investment. All I want is to move on and pass this horror and enjoy unlimited upside with other men. They don’t teach you diversification for nothing and that was my first mistake. My unhedged heart has filed for Chapter 11. But really appreciate your support guys. It’s been a very very tough week.

I got busy and didn’t check on this for a few days…LOL…the breakup has been going well…however I fear the impending call-back which is probably just around the corner. It’s just shy of two weeks out…this is the danger zone.
I was dating the same girl last year, and on my first day off work( hell week before the test) she started an argument with me about how I’m not showing her enough affection….Duh…kinda busy over here.
Needless to say I failed last year.
This test is brutal not only for takers, but also those close to us.
