I notice that the Economic module (vol 2) of CFA Curriculum for Level 1 for Dec 2008 does not contain anything on global economics i.e. the balance of payment etc.

Is the topic not part of CFA syllabus?

if you mean international trade topics they have been taken out of the 2008 curriculum.
