GMAT score on resume?

Is this frowned upon like the MBA on business cards?
My problem is that I have a pretty decent GMAT score but I’m only going to a so so school.
 
On your biz card? Hell no. If you have a 700+ I’d put it on your resume. Obviously it depends on the job but some employers will require you to release your GMAT score to them.
 
Also depends on your experience level. I used to put it on my resume when my experience was light and I was looking for any way to stand out, but now that I’m 7 years out of business school, no way.

Right, my experience is light right now as well which is why I’m thinking of including it.
 
Kind of depends on the answer to the question:
“I see you did really well on the GMAT. Why did you go to So-So School instead of Harvard?”
 
Because it’s cheaper, and the market was not down when I started.

Fair enough, just be ready for the follow-up question on ROI.
For the record, I went to a school ranked in the 15 - 25 range. Every interviewer asked what other schools I considered and why I chose the school I did.
 
what about putting MBA on your card after your name - is THAT frowned upon ? (seems like everyone is doing it)

Who is everyone? Mortgage brokers and car salesmen?
 
I’ve met 3 or 4 guys who list MBA after their names, biggest cheese d!cks you’ll ever meet. Keep it classy.

Yes, highly frowned upon. I have seen it a number of times, but they were generally medical doctors or financial advisors.

Hahahaha - true.
 
so consensus is it’s ok to put gmat score on resume, but just be prepared to answer about it
 
I have a tattoo showing off my 760 (99th percentile) including the score breakdown (Q49/V45) and my AWA (6.0).
Its also on the resume, right between my max bench and my lowest Iron Man time.

Funny one mossy.
Chicken, I see more people put CFA after their name than MBA, but for the highly successful people I know with both Ivy league MBA and CFA, there is nothing next to their name. They put those credentials elsewhere in their resume or descriptions (for conferences/seminars).

People that don’t need it behind their names don’t bother.
 
I changed my middle name to CFA after I passed L1

Add accountants to the list.
I agree with MBA not being put on your card. If anything, you can have it on your CV or bio on your company’s website if you’re a hotshot.
What I am conflicted about is the entire email issue (that I made a thread for). I don’t want to come off looking like a tool, but seriously, clients treat you differently when you have the letters behind your name versus not. (i.e. They will trust you if you have the coveted letters, versus chew you out if you don’t and think you’re a nimrod for not knowing every single detail related to them.). I can see why it’s not necessary if you work more internally, but if you’re working with external clients, etc. - I think it’s definitely necessary especially if you’re not up in the ranks.
