GMAT score on resume?

Also, I would personally never put GMAT/GRE/etc. scores on the resume. Hopefully, you have more to show for than that… like…. real experience, education, skills.
By putting your GMAT scores and being from a so-so school, it makes you look… not very competitive especially when you’re competing against candidate xyz from top tier schools with top honors / fullbright scholarships, etc.

I think you made a pretty compelling argument to put it on your emails. I would if I were you.
 
I have to jump in on this subject. Sure, many people that don’t need ‘CFA’ behind their name don’t have it there. So what? Let’s be realistic though – upon earning it, you probably need it (most likely want it). As time passes, you might not need it anymore – then you may decide to take it off. It’s really humorous to see all this talk about the image it sends off. The truth is, no one probably gives a damn. Anybody that is bothered by seeing ‘CFA’ after another person’s name is either 1) a tool themselves or 2) they didn’t finish the program and harbor some sort of resentment.
Some people passed it like in 1980 and they might not even want to be reminded (or asked) when they earned the charter – very possible.
To sum up, simply abstaining from putting ‘CFA’ after your name on your business card doesn’t make you a hot shot. Just like dressing down on wall street doesn’t make you rich and cool. “So-and-so doesn’t even have CFA after his name! - wow! he must be awesome!”
It’s all about doing what’s right for you. What will help you? Do you want CFA behind your name? If the answer is yes, put it on there and quit worrying about image. If you don’t need it, don’t put it there.
People will have more respect for the person that does what they want than they will the goober that sits around researching what people will think if he puts ‘CFA’ after his name…..because that kind indecisiveness probably flows through to other things in that person’s professional decision making process.
Not trying to offend anyone here- just wanted to put this out there. I mean, hey, this is the place to have these kinds of discussions…
 
^I agree on the macroscale with you. However, I think there is a general consensus regarding your title that becomes ambiguous for a variety of reasons. It also depends on the industry, so questioning whether or not it’s appropriate isn’t always an indication of indecisiveness; rather, it’s gauging whether or not the “general consensus” is one way or the other in a particular subset / points in life.
To put it concretely, it is perfectly okay for me to “flaunt” my designations in my field, but if I do this in the finance field, I’m a toolbag. Also within a particular customer base, when I’m talking to different target populations / occupations, I might bring up, or not bring up, my qualifications.
Another example is for interviews, you want to state you’re a CFA or whatever they’re looking for versus when you’re working internally, you don’t need to flaunt it unless you’re asked. If you’re young and don’t have a lot of experience under your belt, all you have for credibility purposes are your designations, but if your superiors think you’re a twit for bragging about something as “small” as that, then you have to know what’s up. That’s where these questions come about - little nuisances that occur considering different contexts.
