I wasn't suggesting that you were. In fact, I know exactly how you feel and sometimes it can be frustrating. The reality is, you will be dealing with people that are less polite, respectful, or competent than you throughout your life. Doesn't matter if you went to a top school or work at the best bank, or even at a small firm out in the middle of nowhere...you can potentially find these types of people everywhere. It's unfortunate, especially when you really feel like you're in the right. However, best way to do things is go about your business and try to be polite to them (however difficult that may be), but don't get in contact with them more than you need to and definitely don't let them get under your skin.

I took the advice of the 3 of you and it seemed to cut through some of the ice today. I smiled, made a small joke, and they were a little nicer than usual because of it. Maybe this is the start of something good...who knows? But I at least wasn't pissed off when I got to the 5th floor.
