I am starting a new job as a quant investment analyst in a wee while.

Can anyone recommend a good book for getting to grips with Excel? My background is as a software developer, and I have reasonable VBA skills, but I would like to get fully up to speed on the applications of Excel in finance (in particular using it for derivative related calculations).

Many thanks!

Try looking through the following link:

http://www.mrexcel.com
http://www.anthony-vba.kefra.com

They have books there too.

"Financial Modeling"

by Simon Beninga

"Excel Modeling in Investments"

by Craig Holden

I have used the former, not the latter. I highly recommend keeping Beninga's as a desk reference.
