I have friends in the industry who are chartholders, and claim the designation has not helped them in any way. They work in Banking, VC and Corporate finance. They all became charters while at work and it did not help to increase their salaries.
Any similar experiences?

i got a new job shortly after passing L2. My salary nearly doubled.

Were you making $40K and went up to $65k?

My work paid a little bonus for passing each level, and I received a promotion the year I earned the Charter.
Models and bottles, not in my case – but I’ve got no complaints.

Since starting the program (studying for L1 to current status, studying for L3) my all in comp has increased quite significantly. Almost a 100% increase in just under 2.5 years. Granted I was in a garbage back office job making a reasonable living for normal humans, poverty for finance.
However, I am certain the moves I have made would not have occurred without the program.
Anyways, what I discovered is this - CFA candidacy is the credential that says you’re willing to put in the work, get you in the door, what have you. But the things you learn on your personal initiative is what puts you leaps and bounds over other folks. So, keep learning and watch that CAGR on your comp continue to compound.

some companies will give a slight boost to your salary as you pass

My salary has gone up 60% since I started the program, but CFA was only a piece of the puzzle.

I wonder what is the median salary bump after getting your charter ( some many variables to consider)???
10%???
