Please correct me if I’m wrong:
  • The test is 120 questions, broken up into 20 vingettes.
  • 10 vingettes in the morning and 10 vingnettes in the afternoon.
  • Each vingette is 6 questions.
  • Each vingette makes up 5% of the test
  • 3 hours per testing session, or 18 minutes per vignette
According to the CFAI weighting, theoretically 60% of the test could be made up solely of Ethics, FRA, Corp Fin, Equity, and Fixed Income (if these subjects are at their highest weightings).
Now I’ve read here and there that the vingnettes don’t stay on one topic, but rather often touch on a few topics. (ie, a problem mostly concerning FRA but a Quant question and Ethics question thrown in as well). How prevalent is that? 1 out of 6 quetions in the vingette or more?
Thanks!

The five first points are right. I have heard the vingettes are indeed made of 1 or more topics inside. Schwerser books also say this.

They’re all on the same topic. A fixed income vignette will be all fixed income questions.
