I am planning on giving Level 1 in June 2014.
I was contemplating December but I don’t think I have enough time.
I think 6 months + is more than enough however and I really would like to pass it the first time round.
Does any one have any general tips for what to do. I’m happy to start work now on weekends only and then slowly build up to a more heavy schedule in the months nearer to the exam. I didn’t do any Math after 10th std (in the 2 years before university) so is that something I should be worried about? I’ve contemplated doing Maths A level on my own first to some basic concepts down.
I studied Law and business at university. I have a working knowledge of economics, accounting and finance (very basic). I work in the Credit Risk department of a bank, so I do work in finance.
Any help/tips/advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers

My advice - start reading and start working practice problems.
And don’t worry about the math. If you can pass high school algebra, then you’ve got more than enough math to pass the CFA exams.

Since the exam is less than 2 months away now, I think waiting until June is smart. Building up your studying is a good plan. Try making a study schedule now with how much you want to get through before the new year and then when January hits, adjust your schedule based on what you have covered.
